Blondie Lily

And we’re back! sorry for the absence these last days but Fashion Limbo had the flu! Though not completely recovered, a lovely ride through the countryside, in a friend’s gorgeous Porsche, did the trick and we feel a tad energetic, bringing you some fashion bites.

Lily Allen looks truly sexy in a platinum blonde wig, fiercely posing for the latest issue of Elle UK. Pictures by Rankin, she talks about fashion, fame and much more. We need to get our hands on that mag!

Love your Skin after Chemo: Some TLC

It is only on very few occasions that you find a post by a fellow blogger so inspiring you simply cannot wait to publicize it. This post in beauty blog Arrebatadora (in Spanish) written by Cristina, is one of those. Greatly written, so useful and so relevant in our lives.

Chemotherapy has become a very effective treatment with more and more people overcoming illnesses thanks to it. However, one of the prices to pay is that your skin becomes extra delicate and in need of some TLC.

Cristina mentions how your cleaning routine needs to be that of delicate/sensitive skins. Soap is completely forbidden. The use of a specific cream for this type of skin should be the only way of cleansing the face.
Protection from the sun is essential, creams with SPF of at least 50 are required, and never forget to cover your skin conveniently.

Congratulations to Cristina and Arrebatadora for publishing such a great article.

Summer Storm? Time to get Creative

So we have a summer storm in Brussels. It got so hot today that the sky had to burst. Together with some afternoon boredom and the dreaded credit crunch, I decided to update some boring boots of mine.

See above for the final result, and right below what I started with. Tools: scissors, glue and some old belts.
Result: I’m bang-on-trend for the studded fever and I didn’t spend a penny. Do you like it?

H&M for Men – A/W 09

When looking at the upcoming trends for men in 2009/2010 we have come across H&M; and their Style Guide. One of the trends to look forward to is the biker/easy rider as it takes a lot from past seasons and tends to suit a wide range of guys.

Key items: biker and leather jackets. H&M; offers the one above for €59,95 (price depending on country).
Trousers are straight and wearable with a very comfy look.
Layering is essential: t-shirt plus shirt plus cardigan, we could go on.
Other looks H&M; is playing with are reminiscent of the 90s, with a take on Kurt Cobain and the grundge movement, rock and roll and what they call “Into the Wild” which sees a return to colourful and thick wool jumpers.

Pixie Sexy Pins

We got to give Pixie Geldof some credit, and we don’t normally do, but she is out there…being fashionable, being papped, twittered, tagged, and that gives us a reason to write about her.

We particularly love these Henry Holland tights she is wearing. Want to get your hands on a pair? Then head to London as right now they are only available at Selfridges (we were there last week, completely unaware and are now pulling our hair), all around the UK from September. At €11.50 (approximate price) they are an absolute bargain and will add instant style to any LBD or miniskirt.

Pull and Bear Wants Londoners

Finally!!! London is about to have a taste of Pull and Bear. The young and fresh alternative to Zara, it belongs to the Inditex Group and has more of a denim/boho feel than the its sister Berhska. The new store is opening at 315 Oxford Street (close to Selfridges, on the opposite side) September the 16th. What to expect?

Denim everywhere: the upcoming A/W collection has a general denim feel, very reminiscent of Pepe Jeans. From denim dresses to ripped jeans, straight cuts, etc.
Checks: well, it is the ever-so-present trend, so we know the drill: checked shirts, dresses…it is all there.
Rock kicks: studs have been a favourite at Pull and Bear for the last seasons, and this year this trend is hitting hard so expect shoe boots, boots and other accessories to harden any girlie look.
Guys: Thick cardigans, grey tones and the essential checks. We have always loved their belts and especially the shoe collection, mostly populated by trendy trainers.
Save the date, and discover Pull and Bear London.
